I have just purchased my 5th car and I'm proud to say it's an 03 Ba xt falcon. Before I bought it I decided that I wanted a black car so that I could "murder" it. For those not familiar with this term it means toto have a car that is black on black on black. I'll post some pics up this week wen my new black tail lights arive. Just wanna know what peoples opinions are on murdered cars and if anyone has murdered there's

I rekon a BA could pull it off, 19s or 20s with redwalls.
Some can look good, but really to be 'murdered' its gotta be matte black.

Yeh black B Series look bloody nice, my mate just picked up an XR6 with 20" rims, dual twin tip exhaust system. Bloody nice bit of gear.
Black rims with a polished lip or with redwalls would be the go :)

I like everything about the "murdered" BA, besides the rims...would look better with some deep dish IMO.

BTW how do they make it matt black? is that like some vinyl that they just heat shrink on the car or something?

a lot of the more exotic cars are vinyl wrapped now.
its not really heat shrunk, but heat is used to give it pull/stretch where needed.

Its just the paint you buy. Can get something called GMH black or RFU black which are an under body paint. They are very runny paint and dont need thinners to sprayand you can get 4L of that stuff for $20 which is plenty to paint a car. Another option is you can get something like Protect 10% gloss black which is a normal automotive arcylic paint so it will need thinners. 4L liters of that is around $100 but prices will depend on the brand of the paint and the shop you get it from.

According to the shop I spoke to with the 10% gloss stuff you can polish it once it completely cured and make it a bit shinnier or leave it with the matt finish and it doesnt need a clear coat but the other stuff you cant realy polish unless you clear coat it which would then change its appearence. Also the shop couldnt comment on how the GMH/ RFU black would last being used as the primary paint but did say if it did fade or go blotchy after a while its not expensive to just repaint the car
