Ok I made a tiny bit of progress on the wagon idea. I may have located at suitable wagon as well as getting ahold of venom industries who originally made the venom kit. They can make my venom bar fit a wagon as well as modifying a set of venom side skirts to fit and modifying the front bar as well. So hopefully if all goes well and this wagon come into my posession I can sent the front and rear bars off to get the custom treatment

Bring on a tickford powered wagon with custom one of a kind venom based body kit

Ok people the date has been set. after midnight of the 16th of june 2010 the car will offically never be on the road again and the hunt for a wagon will really be on.

The plan will be to completely strip the sedan and use the best parts on the wagon and to sell the rest. So at the moment the diff and the side skirts look like they will be at the top of the list to go to a new home

yes. the reason for waiting 6 months is i still need a car and I get over 2 grand in the middle of the year. Plus I can use the time to use my contacts to find the right car and try get a little more cash together to get the parts i want

Update: thursday arvo I had an unexpected call from my grand father asking what my plans were in regards to this car. Well after a lengthy talk he offered to give me some money to make my plan reality and 6 months earlier then I expected.

So after contacting everyone I knew in the auto industry trying to locate one in good nick and not over priced or sold and having no luck, I found a 1997 el falcon gli wagon with nudge bar, tow bar, 15 inch alloys and a factory tickford gas system. An offer was made but the owner wanted to wait to see how the ebay add went where it finished at 2 grand. So bugger I cant afford it until I get a call this morning from the owner asking if I was still interested as the guy who won on ebay hasnt been able to be reached for 3 days. So after a couple of quick calls a deal was made and 90 mins later the cars was in my yard.

So what I got is a stock 97 el falcon gli wagon with factory tickford gas, auto, vynil floors and seats, 15 inch after market alloys, alloy nudge bar and towbar. Also in the last 2 months it has had the entire brake system reco'd and a new battery. Now as some my have noticed it is a taxi pack but the car was never offically a taxi, it was a black and white cabs company car with every panel being original except the front guards. So the car has about 100 000 more k's then most of the wagons I had found but no where near the k's normally found on 97 ford taxis

All of this for $1400 delivered but no rego. So the fun begins. A 2 week thrash to swap parts from the sedan to the wagon to make it tidy enough and ready for the RWC and gas cert.

Ok today I started the swaping of the front ends. The venom bar and bonnet scoop are off the sedan and the bonnet scoop fitted back to the bonnet it was orginally fitted to and then that bonnet fitted to the wagon. Also to my suprise the venom bar is only about an inch to an inch and a half lower then the standard one and except the lip on the venom bar the nudge bar would still fit

I have also removed the front seats out of the wagon so I can put the front seats from the sedan in. The dash facia, stereo surround, shifter surround and dash spear are all now black and I am going to try spaw the steering wheels and colum shourd over this week also
