G'day guys,
About 3 months ago i got rid of the "XH4LTWEPN" and bought a 1999 XHII XR8 ute. Upon purchase it was bog stock XR8 with the only mod being a twin 2" exhaust with one 12" hotdog per side. Standard height, std wheels, std tonneau, std everything with 5spd man trans and 108,000k's.

Since then i have swapped a few things over from the other ute and begun modifying the exterior a little. I started by swapping the wheels and the tuff lid over. Then i got sick of the std ride hieght and bought a pair of lovells XSL springs and havin them fitted along with resetting the rear leaves. I had the windows tinted with 5% tint(nice and dark). Changed tail lights to an all clear smoked type lense and fitted NL fairlane side repeaters.

There is a bit of paintwork to be done to the front bar and bonnet(ex country car) and to the tailgate and around the recessed part for the tonneau to sit flush on the side. The tonneau had rubbed the paint away all the way around where each strap was.

All in all im pretty happy with the way it looks now untill i get the paint work done. Unfortunately i dont have any pics of it the day i got it (stupid me :? ) Anyway heres a few pics of it now so let me know what you guys think and any suggestions are always welcome. Plenty more mods to come, will keep it posted.

Cheers Jeff

I think that would be very cool. 8-)

I'm not a fan of the factory red stripe - I think it would look better blue. Are you planning to remove the strap hooks around the tray body? That would smooth it out nicely.

Love it man!!! But (and everyone knows I am gunna say this   ) rollbar, spotties and save some money on repainting the front end and fit a five poster!!!.

No seriously I like it. Getting rid of the hardtop is a good idea too. Creates too much greif when you actually use it as a ute.
