I got an EF Fairmont sitting in the backyard with a gearbox problem. Ive been wanting to sell it and buy a similar one with LPG etc. I got bored and did this simple photoshop of the car. After doing this ive got it in my head that im gonna keep the car and achieve this look :lol: . For me this simple look does it for me without all the flashy/standout type mods and when seen coming will still be said "here comes the beast" :lol: Anyways is this achievable? as in the front bumper/lights and the empty grill mouth bit(not just removing the grey insert but to make it look as black as possible in there. Sorry if its in the wrong section(first post :D )

Yeah, im with you on that one. Looks so much smoother, took me a few seconds to realise why the front end looked so different

And to answer your earlier question, yes it is very achievable. Its amazing what people can do with e series fairmonts, you've got so many options with grills etc. Have you thought about fine black mesh to fill the grill area? Or do you plan on just smoothing it all out, and leaving the mouth open?

yea i thought as a standard bumper for a car it looks pretty good just that bumper strip takes that clean look away, as for the grill area i reckon black mesh could be a better option but i do like it how it looks above but wondering what exactly is behind the grey insert? cos i don't think ill be able to achieve the same look unless i put in a black piece of board or something in there to hide whatever, as for the lights what is the purpose of the little grooves etc cos i want that smooth look, sorry for the questions just dont want to do something thats illegal/ destroys a purposeful feature :lol:

I reckon its the best e-series bumper in my opinion, not being biased or anything :mrgreen:

I like how its got that mouth look where its all dark behind it, but i reckon it would be hard to get that effect. When you remove the grey platic insert for the grill, theres a little support bracket in between the top and bottom part of the metal surround part of the grill, like this below

That support bracker would have to be cut out, the the inner part of the metal surround would have to smoothened out and/or get the gaps where the insert clips in filled so that it looks all nice and smooth. Basically behind the grill is the just the front part of the bonnet which the grill mounts to obviously and its pretty much flat. Remove the grill and you'll know what i mean, to remove the grill theres 7 10mm nuts you have to loosen from behind the grill which you access from underneath the bonnet then pull it out, 4 small nuts at the top of the grill and 3 longer black/grey nuts at the bottom

The faded headlights look alright...it is also achievable, but you will see f**k all light coming out when you turn your head lights on.

In saying that, the bar does look different in a better way...grill is awkward IMO. Looks too plain.

phong =P~
