iv got some front end damage im trying to fix so i have cut out a front section of another car by drilling the spot welds out and removing whole panels.

now i need to weld in the replacements but how do i do that / what do i need?,
iv been told the cheapest option would be heating with MAPP gas and silver soldering
otherwise use oxyacetyline and mild steel or a MIG welder

i have none of these, but i can get the MAPP gas for a reasonable price.
also how should i fill or cover the holes where the spot welds were

if anyones heard of this or done it please point me in the right direction, thanks

I used a mig. Spot welded the panels back together using a couple small g-clamp to squeeze the panels together with a piece copper behind the weld to prevent the welder burning a hole in the steel.
Took me the day to strip and repair with everything I needed on hand.



P.S. Wasn't bad damage just buckled the radiator support. Was touching the motor.

where abouts did you placed the piece of copper?

Did you place it beneath the second panel with the g clamp holding it into position?
