Im looking at this wheel and tyre package.
I just got a pretty good offer 18*8 front and 18*9 deep dish rear, They are to suit a BA and the deal includes hub adapters and nuts etc $1800.

Will 9 inch wide wheels fit on the back of an EF keeping in mind it requires hub adapters ?

Yea Mickyy hase 265's on rear of his ef xr8 so should work for ya

its all about offset, not width. with 35mm hub adaptors you cant get a very deep dish. try 20- 25mm for a deeper dish. remembering e series is close to 0 (+6 technically), a 35mm spacer on a ba offset (+35) will give you very little dish, a 20mm spacer will start to look decent as your offset could be closer to +20. also a guard roll and not going too low will help a wider rim fit. check out wagondriver's gallery for a good example of a deep rear dish (3 inches or so). he had his custom made to +6 offset.
but the best advice is check and recheck before you order as a mistake can be costly to fix...

Backspacing is an easier way to look at it, as the offset can change with the width of a rim.....

not necessarily. offset is only the position that the back of the wheel centre (the flat bit that is hard against the cars hub) in RELATION to the overall width of the rim. you could technically have an 8 inch rim with a 7 inch lip, if you had flares for example and had the room. or an 8 inch rim can have only 1/2 inch lip, but most of the rim would be unseen at the back. the fact is, an e series has only so much room BEHIND the face of the hub. that is UNCHANGABLE unless you tub the car. the way to maximise the overall width is to get under there with the wheel ON, work out how much space you have to increase the width (remembering the clearance will change depending on the height of the car, going over bumps etc.) and do the same at the front. if you have a 7 inch wheel now, and figure you can gain, for example 3/4 inch at the back and 1 inch at the front, then you will fit a 8 3/4 inch wheel under there. BUT, the offset would have changed. by exactly 1/4 inch, as the gain at the back was less than the gain at the front. in other words, you added 1 inch at the front, but lost 1/4 inch of offset, so GAINED 3/4 inch dish. of course this scenario would require a custom made rim, or a 3 piece rim to get that offset, as most rims have one set offset that cant be changed.

btw would avoid hub adapters if possible and just get something to suit e series.
Thats just a personal pet hate tho

yeah they are illegal in sa. having said that some have griped about the strength- "my mate had a set and the wheel came off and the adaptor snapped and blah blah freakin blah blah". if they are correct for the car with good quality nuts they are fine. the drift cars use em and they put there cars through hell compared to what we do. ive run mine for 3 years and had not one issue with them.
