I just got this beautiful blue 2002 Series III XR6 with a manual transmission only 9 days ago!




Long story, please don't ask. I'm absolutely bleeding about this! I need a new left side skirt.
Color: NR Blue
Paint/Trim Code: NR/B2








If left with no choice I will accept a different color and get it painted and fitted at a panel beating shop or someplace.

My knowledge with cars is VERY basic so i'm open to opinions and suggestions, All I know is I took it to a panel beater today and he could not tell me if he could fix it or not.. He made a call and found out they don't make these skirts anymore.

He didn't even know what plastic it was and if it would rust or not.. He said if he could fix it then it'll be $300 to respray. Unsure about the repair costs. He didn't seem to want my money, he sent we across the road to a place that was full of Taxi's they pull apart. he said go ask them you will buy one cheaper.. A Blue XR6 Taxi?? "You wont know unless you go"
So I did, enough said on that matter I think.

Went back, asked how much if I bring him 2 brand new panels to spray and fit "They wont be genuine and are hard to fit"

By this time my patience was wearing VERY thin!! "YOUR A PANEL BEATER, THIS IS WHAT YOU DO ISN'T IT"
Turns out yes he is and yes he does.. $550 to paint both panels and $150 to fit them.

I have GIO Full Comp Premium Car Insurance with $600 excess so that might be an idea, go though insurance??


Well I'm in the market for a new passenger side skirt and hoping for advice on best way to go about getting it done cheap yet professionally, no cheap back yard jobs, any suggestions or tips would be much very underappreciated.

hi DK-Matty, panel beater sounds like he doesn't care. have a go at doing it your self. you got nothing to lose. like you said 'you won't know unless you go". grab a fibre glass kit from supercrap or ripco and have a go. you might just surprise your self,
