Hi guys,

I was wondering if any spraypainters or people with experience could have a guesstimate on how much the following paint work would cost.

I need the following stuff resprayed: *Factory Ford Gunmetal Grey

--

Both XR hood vents (the clear on both of them is flaking)

The underside of front bumper (everythings scratched up from gutters from previous owner)

The topside of the rear spoiler

The Top half of the rear drivers side quarterpanel (from the body strip upwards towards the boot. Various imperfections / clear coat flaking)

A small paint imperfection near the numberplate lamp on the rear bumper

A heap of stone chips near the Ford Logo on the front bumper

One brand new passenger side mirror

--

It seems like alot, but it really isnt too much surface area of metal to be resprayed, but I dont know how it all works so im in need of some experienced opinions.

Thanks,

Ben

it will depend greatly on who you go to because some people will do a good job and others wont

got a hyundia bonnet painted for $250 and it wasnt done very well at all within a few months it was getting orange peel and dark spots etc
but my old man got his XC paint patched up by a true old school pro $1k just to fix some small area's and its bloody great work you cant even tell

so you get what you pay for mate

if this much of the car is having the clear peal off the rest of the car wont be to far off

what you can do with this is(if you can do it your self) is just hand sand the clear away using 600 wet and dry then clean the car with wax and grease remover and paint it with a aryclic clear lacquer this is only a quick fix

but to me looks like the actual colour on the rear wing is gone id suggest removing it before paint and painting it again with colour then clear

to fix it properly you would have to take the entire car back to metal and start again with undercoats and primers etc

The entire car???

(Excluding the few stonechips on the front, and the little knock on the rear bar)
The rest of the car is pefectly fine besides the few stonechips here and there, in really good condition actually. Its just those two vents, the spoiler, and the top half of a quarter panel lol.

if your going to do the dodge sand and clear dont have to do the whole car but id expect others bits to start to follow suit shortly after

just sand a nice area around the peeling clear then paint with clear (even just clear lacquer acrylic in a can will do)
