I just got myself a 02 fairmont ghia 5.4L thing is its got driving lights but u cant turn them on with the fog light buttton because the ghia doesnt have one to push. s**t idea is they come one when u turn a corner. the inside ligt will turn on, and that's one at a time. then turn off. they only come on when u turn the light switch to AUTO. does any one have this and would it be hard to man wire them up?

Well maybe because there cornering lamps, and not fog lamps would explain the problem.
And yes i gather you can connect them up to the parkers or highs or what not, and just set a switch for them, but I haven't done it before so can't help you with details.

If you're confident in running a relay for them. You can do whatever you want with them. I've set some up on a mates car, and they come on with the parkers. It's easy if you can wire a relay.

they actually came as fog lights from teh factory, but ford did a recall on them as they were not ADR compliant and on subsequent service they rewired them as cornering lamps to get past adr compliancing

pretty s**t to change them tho. i think i'd rather hook them up with a switch so i can choose when i want them on rather than hook them up to the park lights. i might just leave them to a sparky so he can install a switch too. i seen the ford fog light button on ebay for about $30.
But i dont understeand y the fairmont got recalled when they were making XR's with bigger fog lights with a switch.

You hook them into the parkers, but also run a switch. That way if you have the switch set to on all the time, theyll only ever actually be on when your parkers are. ATM they are set to turn on when the indicator is on - hence turning lamps.

They got recalled because of the lamp design, XR fog lamp design met ADR's, Ghia lamps Didnt!
