Replaced my whole front light assembly and installed some s**t ebay driving lights. The whole lot, including nice bright NARVA white/blue performance globes, only set me back about $200.
One of the best changes I've done I reckon What do people think of the driving lights? They look a little cheap in the day time and give off s**t all light but they look sweet at night.

Yeh... Like I said, these are only el' cheapo $15 ebay lights. I only got them to see whether I liked driving lights with this front bar.
All the wiring is there now. If I find a better set then I'll swap them over. I'll find a use for these elsewhere.

Nah mitch. They're aftermarket TYC ones. I got both headlights and indicators for $140.
A friend of mine has had a set on his EF for a couple of years and they still new so these should be ok.

I wonder if you can paint the headlights with a clear coat of lacquer paint to stop it from going yellow....
Looks good mongoose, I still got to get mine, but too lazy and no money. phong =P~

I've got a pair of headlight covers which I'm going to to keep on. This is meant to stop the yellowing.

I was thinking of getting driving lights fitted to my XR8 but I wasn't going to wire them up, just have them fill the holes cause its a good look when you have some good lights there.
Besides unless it foggy you can't have them on. |

It only takes about 10mins and a driving light wiring kit only costs about $15 and has a manual switch so you can keep the lights switched off most of the time.

lol it took me a little longer than that. you have a few different wires going to the relay, one going into the cabin for the switch, one to tap into the headlight, one for power, one for earth etc Took me a couple hours whilst trying to do a neat job |

Took me 10 mins... 15 max. I used a wiring kit so everything wasmore or less plug and play. I only had to hardwire the highbeam tap, earth wiring, and mains power. I put my manual switch under my bonnet as I wouldn't be switching my lights on and off too much. And I already had my front bar off so I really only had to do the wiring itself.
The removing of the front bar and wiring into the cabin would take the longest shouldn't take long if you've previously removed the front bar and know how to get the wires into the cabin.

is it just me or do the headlights not look as big as normal falcon headlights? or is there just a gap in the body kit?

There's a very slight gap under the lights due to the body kit. It's barely noticeable in person.
I've got my headlight covers on there now which cover it up slightly.
