Was thinking of spraying Nightshade on my indicators to make them a bit more consistent with the rest of the car, but most of the nightshade jobs I see are pretty terrible. Most people seem to want to black things out completely. Is it possible to get a light coat looking consistent? Something comparable to say a mild window tint? If anyone's got some pics of some more subtle jobs would like to see.

i used night shade on back lights and indercators

one coat noticed nothing two coats is bout what u want, so long as its not windy u wil get a very even good looking coat

i wont bother showing you pictures tho because i decided to go almost black with the side indercators

altho my indercators are orange not the clear ones u sometimes see

if yours are clear i wouldent do the nide shade it goes a werid gay blue color

Uploaded the damn pics to small! :x But you get the flow, first pics are the before and after BF ones i did. 3rd is Stock BA lights agaist tinted BF lights and last pic is the EL :D

The BF ones are not actualy that dark, its just wen they are in dark light they look real dark, Wanted them to look like stockish due to it being a daily and my EL... Cops think they are standard, i actualy passed the pits with them on when i got stickered for height. :)

Actually those are some of the better ones i've seen  Theyre not matte for one..

Those and eluzions are pretty much what im aiming for, Im guessing these jobs were the usual VHT nightshade but applied a bit more gently than most?

Yeh i dont like the matt looking ones, makes em look kinda dodgy or hell bogan spec :P Also when braking the lights are just as good as standard, Unlike pitch black ones ive previously done for others :)

Here's the job I done on my ute
Image

I started with clear lenses and done 3 coats. 2 would be plenty but I got excited and went for 3.
The lights are just as bright as they were before the colour change.

Those bf lights look very good. Nice and subtle.

The EL... wow! The colour, the wheels and ride height set it off.

ROB83R cheers mate. I fail to drive over speed bumps with the EL hahaha. How do they light up during the day with the brakes? I did my mates tail lights on her EF and made them pitch black with clear strip left in them, They were very dull and people didnt like them during the day when cruising behind her cause they couldnt see the brake lights eluminate. She never got hassled when cops pulled her over... Yet again she is blonde and has boobs

Daylight you say?
Not the best but its still visible... if you squint

2 coats would've been perfect though. They got darker as they dried as well.

I have led bayonet globes to replace the red coloured globe that came with the tail lights. There's an issue with the plugs fouling on the globe so I'm on the hunt for a different set. But they're worth it, much brighter ;)

unless its perfect weather i can never get mine glossy enough to my likings. so i normally hit it with some gloss clear after the tint and they come up nice and glossy. I hate it when you see this stuff sprayed on all dribbly and matt looking. Ive done about 10 cars with this stuff gives it a unique look... untill you come on here and notice every one has done the same thing haha
