G'day

My car cover unknowingly got oil on it, and i put the cover on my car, thus putting oil patches on my paintwork.

Will it do anything bad to the paintwork, apart from make dust stick, and whats the best way to get it off?

Give it a polish on the area where the oil is with The Paint Doctor. About $10 from an autoparts store.

Then polish the panel normally and then wax it.

May as well do the whole car because that panel will look different after polish and wax.

Dont use a 2 in 1 formula. Get two seperate products and do it one after the other. Polish first then wax.

Examine the area where the oil is after and see if it has gotten rid of it.
