Just wondering what everyones opinion is on wheel adaptors.
Seeing as there isnt much variety in mag wheels for the e-series, ive noticed alot of e's getting around with wheel adaptors and running au/ba offset mags. I have been told that if you use them and fit them properly you'll have no troubles. RTA NSW say that wheel adaptors are legal, because they adapt onto the exsisting hub. Spacers over 5mm are illegal. Whats your opinions?? |

Spacers are stupid. But hub adapters are fine, I mean they bolt onto the hub in the same way as a proper offset wheel would, so there's no way you can call them unsafe without then thinking that all wheel are unsafe...

Spacers sometimes have a tendency to sum how become loose. so they are deemed illegal by the RTA coz of safety grounds...Thats my understanding |

like a washer, they sit between the hub and the wheel

Hub adapters are engineered and bolt onto the original hubs threads, you then bolt the wheels onto the new threads that are on the hub adapters. There about $50.00 each... |

I have an EL and currently runing 2002 BA XR6 rims (mark 1) any hows this means i use hub adapters. My opinion on hub adapters is quite positive i have had them for roughly 6 months and no problems at all.
Feel free to hit me with any questions.

Your best bet are wheel and tyre shops, especially the ones that specdialise in wheels, e.g. Bob Jane T Marts.

Been running them with no hassles whatsoever for the last 3 months. I'm a bit sceptical about any circuit work though, what with all the pressure that would be exerted on them, but around the streets there fine. Get EL GT rims if your worried. |

quick notes:
neils wheels / tempe tyres in Sydney do sell Legal Hub Adapters (for NSW) and are $75-90ea. In Victoria they are not legal as ive heard but still unsure on that but they are safe and spacers are the non safe ones. I had a set of them that i recently sold to mark (its performance) and he has no problems with them at all. ba rims including the 18s and 19s are now avail in e series offsets but are just hard to find, au rims too |

Remember when buying wheels, the cheaper the deal is more chances you'll hve cheaper/s**t tyres!
