Hey guys, I recently got some Kuhmo Powermax tyres on all corners, but I'm unsure how much air to pump into them.
This is the stats from the tyres: 215/60R15 94H Now they are 215, which is a little wider than stock, right? (which I think are 205. The Fairmont has a kerb weight of 1594kg. So what sort of tyre pressure should I be putting in for optimal wear, fuel economy and handling? Front, rear, normal and max load. Thanks lads. P.S. Right forum? lol.

i work in a full service petty station where i spend most of my time pumping tyres lol, generally with any vehicle (excluding trucks and farm equipment) no matter the size of the tyre you still need the same pressure. i usually go between 30 and 35 psi. its the pressure of the air in the tyre that it measures not the amount of air.

I would of called the mob, but I think we'd have taken ages just agreeing on the brand and model of tyres I got from them just 2 weeks ago, lol.
Plus you're a helpful bunch in here, so why not. No definitive answer, but I got the general idea (plus it comes down to personal preference I guess). Cheers lads.

I run 235/60R15 and use 36 front and 34 rear, but if I go on a trip on the hiway, I let them down to 32 and 30. At hiway speeds, the tyres tend to throw out at the middle and you get a hollow in the middle of the tyre.

Thanks lads, especially cjh. I'll keep those highway pressures in mind when I eventually go for my Rockhampton roadtrip.
O, and going down to superlows won't effect it at all will it? Won't have to change pressures, right?

Its hotter here than Brizzy. Its usually hotter here than in Cairns. Have a good trip, and watch the cops, there are radar traps everywhere. They ( Qld Govt ) have handed out radar guns like free icecream. Even the cops in One horse/one dog towns have them now.
