Hey Everyone,
I got a quote yesterday to have both my cars windscreens replaced. O'Briens wanted to charge $300 each Local guy wanted to charge $290 each All places between Springwood - Bathurst wanted to charge between $250 - $335 each. Surely there must be someone around Penrith / Blacktown that would want the business and willing to provide a decent price for 2 full windscreens. Hope one of you can suggest a decent mob to deal with Thanks, John. |

I dont think a windscreen place in Melbourne is going to be much use to some one in Lithgow NSW?
Try Better Windscreens in Penrith on Peachtree Road. That is who does my ones as a rule and they are normally pretty cheap.

I once called Jims mowing to trim the missus pubes....Apparently it was too scary and would require danger money if they did do it.

My most recent replacement was $175 from a joint near HighPoint in the western sub's of melbourne. O'briens quoted me $300 for the same job. They seem to be very pricey.

I've always gone and got my own replacement and paid 50 bucks to have it professionally installed.
If you take your time and use a stanley knife around the rubber, you can get the old one out if you are careful.. my tips: 1. Cut off as much of the rubber as you can get to. 2. Park the car in the sun in the hottest place you can find, and leave it for a couple of hours.. perhaps use a heatgun to gently warm around the rubber/sealant. (I never have but it might help) 3. put bums in both front seats and feet in big soft shoes on the window and ease the thing out as gently and evenly as you can.... it is fiddley but it does work.. you might crack one before you get good at it though as you are likely to get over eager and impatient and you really need to take your time. Then call a window place and get them to put it in your car... I usually pull mine out before calling them so your quote is just to install a windscreen supplied by yourself into a car with no windscreen... cheaper that way... |
