2 weeks ago while heading to the airport i stopped at a servo to get some breaky and when i came out and started up the car and turned on the headlights they no longer worked, so now i'm home i went to work trying to find out what went wrong.
Of course i started at the wrong end of the car, i thought it was caused by one of my dash LED's stopping working as by the following pics you can see. when i found it was just the globes had melted the holders, now these globes have been in the car for almost a year now and they are 100w low beams, see the pics and try and tell me how these could have just melted one day both at the same time?

they wouldnt have just melted like that, they melt more and more over time, especially with a lot of night driving
i'm guessing one shorted out, and it killed the whole circuit

The plastic headlights in EF/EL Falcons are not made to handle the heat from 100w globes (not enough air space). They also tend to fry the adjusters on other models. Better off with +50's, Ultra blues ect. or HID's

probably not a good idea Davehimself as HID's take a lil bit to warm up and dont like being turned on and off from what i've learnt. I doubt ill ever use my hi beam much anymore

are the 100W illegal?
Why did you go up from the reccomended wattage? You didn't notice that the cable gauge wasn't thick enough to support that kind of current flow? That's why it melted to s**t man! |

My god does any actually READ what i wrote? They were already in there and i did not know they were anything but stocko's until now. i have the info and it just seems weird that these globes have been in for over a year and then they melt suddenly.......BOTH at the same time!
