Hey guys,

I'm going to do the whole meguiars paint thing...

Soft Wash Gel
Deep Crystal Paint Cleaner
Deep Crystal Polish
Tech Wax

I'm thinkin that i've got all my bases covered now... I'll use warm water for the wash and see how she goes... fingers crossed... I guess tomorrow morning'll tell!

Phongus,
It's not hard, just like a really thick sludge... and no, my car didn't catch fire...

hey tick4d_xr6,
Yeah it was on bangalow road near the twisties at binna burra. My mont' is light blue on superlows and AMG Quakes. What's your car? I might have seen it too.

Cheers, Rob

Get photos of the crap all over your car, just incase they do end up finding the sucker you can claim compensation maybe. Couldnt hurt having photos just in case.
Good luck with getting that oil off your car, what a pain in the a***

robby83 if its just a sludge then that means the oil has just turned into jelly. most effective way of getting any type of cooking oil off a smooth surface is hot water and a surfactant (soapy stuff). hot water turns oil into liquid and loosens them up and the surfactant would react with the oil and water pulling it off the car. degreaser works too but that might take the paint off. good luck

But yeah might see ya around some time go out to three chain road for a bit of a drag. lol

Hey man,
I'll keep my eyes open for it next time i drive down there... He he... if i see it you might hear me... I've also got basic engine mods, Headers and exhaust. i'm hopefully gonna have it cammed with a bit of headwork by the qld dyno day, but sorry man... gotta drive to work, can't afford to get caught racing.

Oh yeah, I hate F*%@ing Canola oil! this s*%t is bloody stubborn. Used hot water and it comes off but it's too cold outside at the moment and the water gets too cold to work after about 2 mins... i'm going to go to the local paint and crash supplies and see if the sell some kind of 'miracle spray' so i don't have to get even crankier.

you could try just hot water .just pour it over the car .and keep doing it'' a panel at a time .than wash car while the metal is still hot .and than wipe car over with wax and grease remover .than give the old girl a wash again .than a real good polish .

Ok,

I went to my local paint specialist, and they sold me some Prepsol... believe it or not it actually worked, it stripped everything off the paintwork like a hot knife through butter. After that i clayed it, applied a paint cleaner, then polish, then numerous layers of wax... laughing... my car has a deeper and better shine than it ever did before and half of the little scratches in the clear coat are gone. I'm now stoked! It took me around 6 hours to do the job (most of the time was taken up in using the prepsol... oil was in every nook and cranny) but it would have taken much longer if i didn't buy a Mothers WAX attack palm polisher, these things are gold! small, manuverable, and piss easy to use!

Anyway, Thanks for the help Fellas! It was much appreciated.
