Hay, I have done a new mod to my car, and i jsut wanted to share it.
I am only 17, but have an el falcon futura, and so far have put in a new pioneer head unit, darkest legal tint, 17 inch mags, and soon to come sub set up, and exhaust.
But i was reading an article on painting you calipers, so i thought id give it a try. Photos Included ( i think :? )
I didnt paint the backs of the pads, which looks kind of bad beacuse the dirty clips stand out on the red caliper, but i might paint the clips in future.
tell me what you think.
Also i used a wire brush and degreaser to clean, and painted with spray on caliper paint from auto barn.

not my cup-o-tea, i painted mine flat black as im not into the "painted caliper" thing, just wanted to neaten them up.

p.s. at least you didnt paint the pad like some of the commos round here have, makes me laugh every time.

I did my calipers the long way, chemically dipped, then glass bead blasted, painted, then baked, then assembled with new pistons and seal kits, and new hoses. I even got new rotors, painted & baked (inside too) them too. Fitted new w/bearing kits as well. Its all good. Every 4mths or so, I take the wheels off, and scrub them ( the brakes & wheels ) clean, to stop the brake dust from staining the paint.

Thats the only way, I reckon. They look better that way. I even bought new genuine bolts to fit them too.

also that was before i degreased the calipers
