Hey, I have taken off my door stripes. n thats all cool, but i need a lil help with the painting aspect of it all.

Do i need to sand em back?

Then, what primer do i use?

and what kind of paint, (i want em red)

Has any one done this before??

Cheers! :)

Sand them back with 800 wet&dry. You'll have to use plastic primer or the paint will peel.Use 2-pac paint for a better finish that will last.I've done it to my XR8,changed it from red to gold as well as the XR8 badges.Pics can be seen in the V8 forum under 302W rebuild.Hope this helps.

You may have trouble getting them back on after you take them off because they bow

Yep, thats what i was gunna say about the bowing comment, also! The Ef doors are exactly like EA-ED doors aren't they? only differance is the stripes? I noticed that as soon as i took the stripes off...
