lol.
Yeah, they'll work, but the colour range is poor at best. red, black, yellow, maybe a blue. I've got two cans of W6 'Amaretto' mixed up (using enamel, not acrylic), about to go out and pick them up. Spare rocker cover and my sepentine belt cover have been removed, and pre-cleaned.

preclean and sand them well otherwise you DO notice the imperfections in things if your picky.
i just think its better sprayed by a pro for a) better finish, b) any colour and look you want or even airbrushing. some people can airbrush at home, but never the effect/professional look as what you'd gte from someone else.. |

Just found out they can't do my colour in enamel. So 2-pack it is.
I've had this problem before trying to get touch up paint, but nowhere else has actually told me why it's hard to match - it's an unusual metallic base, and then theres a dozen tinters in it - some of them are pearls.

{DESCRIPTION}
Finished product at todays Canberra AFD. Little bit of elbow grease for the prep work (degrease, sand imperfections, primer/filler) and $67 worth of paint (I bought two colour cans and a clear coat for $80, but only needed one can of colour, and $12 for primer/filler). Progress pics: {DESCRIPTION} Bog stock from wreckers. Looks dirtier than it is. {DESCRIPTION} {DESCRIPTION} I used this as my test piece, both sides are painted, the 'inside' has a run or two, and the clear coat isn't the best. But I learnt and finished the job. {DESCRIPTION} {DESCRIPTION} I didn't completely sand it to bare metal, just took the 'edge' of the existing paint job, and made sure 'the pokey uppy sticky out bits' (casting marks) were gone. Used a whole can of high fill primer on it. Love the beige finish... {DESCRIPTION} {DESCRIPTION} First slightly uneven coat of colour on. The flash accentuates the uneven coat. {DESCRIPTION} Second coat and clear on, much better. A little polish and it's ready for show as in the top picture.

belt cover was removed, degreased, cleaned, colour coat and clear coat. easy.
Tools: 10mm socket for the belt cover, and a bunch of sockets to get the rocker cover and intake bits and pieces off.
