Ok im thinking of painting my rocker cover and the guard on the power steering pump.
Will degreasing the rocker cover before painting ruin the finish?
After degresing should i go over it again with steel wool and soapy water?
What do i do to prep the power steering guar as it is plastic?
Can i use the same paint for both?
I was thinking of using hi-temp enamel?

Anyone who has done this before please lend your expertise.

you will need the surface 100% clean and free from any oil or anything.. wax and grease remover usually does the trick.

sand it before painting.. no other real way to do it..

the plastic will need plastic primer for it to last.

I've done mine to two pack, matching the car.

Prep invovled, degrease, sand, hi fill primer, paint, and clear coat. I just degreased the belt cover and painted, and clear coated.

The belt cover, no longer lives on the car as it's very popular these days.

Use wax and grease cleaner/remover, usually find it amoungst paint supplies in auto stores or hardware stores.
