Hi fellas,

Just looking at purchasing a typhoon style body kit for my BA XT falcon.
I maybe looking at purchasing one from phat customs in dandy.
Just wanted to know if anyone has purchased a kit off them before? and what the quality was like?

I am getting my whole car painted and I was going to paint the kit before I put it on, however the owner from phat customs told me this would causes scracthes etc on the kit while fitting it and that it would be best to paint it once its fitted to the car?

What do you guys recommend?

thanks in advance.

i havent personally delt with this company but to see some of there work F**k hell, id stay well clear of them.

Best to try AWC Fibre Sports or another company

Even buy the kit your self, fit it up so you can see if you need make any adjustments,
Then once your happy how it fits drive it to a panal place and get them to paint it,
Most shops would spray it on the car to blend it in with the other panals etc

Cant stress enough mate!! STAY AWAY FROM PHAT CUSTOM KITS!!! they are absolute s**t. Cheap for a reason coz nothing fits nicely. Check out some posts from page 29 onwards in the show us your au/ba/bf thread. I got the BF GT kit from them, mine turned out ok but thats because my panel beater put in a months worth of work - cost me a bomb as well. Then there is fordbacrazy who got the typhoon kit and is really not happy with it and tlaking about taking it.

I have bought the front bar and side skirts from SSV (www.ssv.com.au) They are more expensive but i can say the qaulity of the kit is soooo much better.

Again stay away from PCK!!!

thanks for the feedback guys keep it coming. I was just going off there ebay feedback its sitting at 100%. So I assumed they would be pretty good.
I dont mind paying abit extra through SSV etc. Because the last thing you want is some cheap crappy fiberglass kit that crumbles on the first scrape.
From memory the SSV kit for the BA typhoon is around $1800 and then shipping. So would end up costing $2000 all up. Which isnt bad as long as its a quality kit.

Yeah exactly mate, thats what i thought as well, even though i bought it from them direct. Yeah the SSV kit is pricey but you shouldnt have to spend as much on fitting it plus it will look so much better as it wont be all gappy. I am fitting the front bar in a week so once that is done i will provide feedback on how it went but on face value it looks much better qaulity. The other thing with PCK is their after sales support. Once Ron got your money he doesnt care, he wont replace anything or beleive you that the kit doesnt fit - even with providing pics.

I dont understand how these people are still in business. He quoted me $2000 to paint and fit the kit. Now I understand why he charges so much, because of all the work involved (he must know its a crappy product)

Yeah thats how much he quoted me plus 100bux to get my reverse sensors put in. I ended up paying my panel beater 1900 bux to paint and fit it and that was only the front and bar, the side skirts didnt fit at all

Lol no i couldnt, i enquired about genuine just for the hell of it, front and rear BF GT bars are about $3500 each and then the side skirts are just under $4000 for the pair!!!

I paid a fair bit but my panel beater really did a good job on it considering what he had to work with. The car was with him a month, granted he wasnt working on it every working hour of that month but still it tied up the hoist etc. He didnt actually charge me for everything he did anyways. Basically i have learnt you really do pay for what you get.

LOL good quote - too true mate and that was me, going forward with other mods it won't be though :-)

Anyways good luck with the kit, they really do look sexy once they are done but just stay away from Phat Customs

Cheers

Phil
