Hey guys, sorry if this is the wrong section too.
I've got an Ef and I've recently lowered it but my exhaust sits a bit low to the ground, is there anyway to permanently raise the exhaust muffler up so that it will further away from the ground? Regards Tim |

Regards Tim Replace the rubber mount for the mid muffler. Probably old and saggy. A new one might lift it up a centimeter or so. If you want it higher you can try and use a shorter rubber, if not do the dodgy way which has been quite successful for me. I have been using cable ties on the rubber mount for the mid muffler. Get under the car, push the muffler up to desired height and hold it there some how (a friend/piece of wood/etc). Wrap 2 or 3 cable ties around it and tighten them up until they take the weight of the muffler. Should hold it for a few years...mine has. Only replaced the cable ties because I had to get a new exhaust...that's right, the cable ties outlasted the exhaust . Don't set it too high to the bottom of the chassis, the heat can transfer into the cabin and melt the sound deadening stuff or even burn it.
