Hi,
Does any body know how i would go about removing the black pieces of plastic that go right around the car on the Falcon GLI? It is in need of a re-spray job bad! Thanks

well if its gettin a respray, then just tear em off, if you intend on leaving the strips off.otherwise thats all you can do, stuck on with doublesided tape, very sticky stuff just make sure you keep an eye on the door skins if they are too stubborn.

If they are taped on then fishing line drawn along under the mould works well.

also can help to heat the moulds up just by using a hairdryer to loosen the glue up a bit.
then you can just pull them off.

When removing the strips, do they leave a stubborn residue behind? I want to completely remove mine, without damaging the paint, or having some black s**t left, that needs to be scraped off.

thers a thing called a carmel wheel connects to ur drill and it takes the black s**t that is left behind of ur car and if u use it right its easy not to damage the paint

I used one of those when I removed the pinstriping from one of my old cars a while back.....They work great and they don't damage the paint. It's what panelbeaters/spray painters use.

yea gr8 lil tool just make sure u keep it movin dont hold it in the same place for to long or it will burn ur paint

Once mould is removed use prepsol to clean off left over double sided tape takes a bit of scrubbing with fingernails ,.use two rags one to soak tape and one to wipe off residue before it dries. (only sure way not to damage paint).

Wouldn't that get rid of the shine of the paint, and make it dull?

No prepsol is just a residue remover, they use it before painting to get grease and s**t off. Its p;erfectly safe on paint have used it on my car a few times now and its fine. I need to get a caramel wheel cos one side of my car has been repaired at sometime and the panel beater used sikaflex to hold the moulds on so iv had this black dots all down the side of my car for like 12 months LOL
