Hey guys!
Just got my GT Body Kit in today. I wouldn't mind attempting to put it on myself. Only thing is, I have no idea how to get the existing s**t box off. Any help will be appreciated.

this is how i did my fg ones, i expect it should be similar. easier than you think.
side kirts - remove the black xmas tree clips underneath. four or five i think. unclip the inner wheel liners from the skirt. check for screws at the corners/ends of the skirt, its been a while and i cant be sure if they had them or not. give it a firm pull, there are clips behind which will break, but they are single use only. should be about ten clips per side. side skirt will now be off. get new clips, (about $3 each from ford). put clips onto the new skirt first. line the skirt up and push those clips into place. reattach any removed screws. reattach inner wheel guards, and put new xmas tree clips in. repeat for the other side. first one took me about 45 minutes as i figured it out, second one took me 15 minutes |

also forgot that you will need to remove the front and rear door scuff plates, and the door rubber. replace after installation of new skirt.

rear bumper.
undo the clips on the rear inner wheel guards. remove the screws aswell. (there is one in the very top corner of the bumper going upside down pointing straight up from memory) under the rear of the bar is about 3 or 4 clips, remove them too. inside the boot, unclip the carpet to access the tail lights. undo the tail lights from inside, and unplug them, plus there will be another nut holding onto a threaded piece off the bumper, remove that too. undo the screws on the tail lights and remove them. grab the bumper near the wheel well and pull away from the body to unclip the corners. follow suit on the other side. remove the beaver panel in the boot, and the boot edging rubber. pull the bumper completely off. if your new bumper has the brackets in the corner then installation is simply a reversal of removing. if no brackets in then simply drill out the rivets and transfer to your new bumper. once installed, the new shape means your inner wheel guards wont sit properly due to different shape. remove the guards, and install new ones. (is either a screw or rivet holding them to the body) |

front bumper
remove the grill and plastic cover on top of it. remove number plate and if applicable the bolt behind it. underneath the car, remove the splash tray entirely. (on the fg, there is a different splash tray for the fpv bumpers, ba/bf may be the same, so be aware) remove the screws and clips holding in the front inner wheel guards. remove the 2 bolts at the top holding the bumper on. grab the bumper at the corner to unclip it, repeat on the opposite side. pull the bumper towards you to remove. to install simply reverse the process. the front inner wheel guards may need to be changed to suit the new shape, maybe check this out first. it has been a while since i had a front/rear bumper off a ba/bf so i may have missed a screw or a clip, but it shouldnt be hard to work out if i have. the side skirts i have changed them on an fg only, so the description may not be 100% but should be fairly close. |

Hehe all good mate. I'm just starting on my front bar now Hopefully have it off before dinner rofl
Update: Have half the front off, but my housemate decided he'd f**k off with my screw driver set for the weekend. YAY so I can't get the splash shield undone. And the little plastic f**k in the wheel arch are a pain in the royal a** (the screw driver I had was too long to fit between the wheel and the guard...) Also because they're plastic, they get chewed really easily, so now I have to rip the c*nts out. Apart from those 2 issues, front bar remove is quite easy.

jack the front end up, sit it on bricks and take the front rims off. easy to access. by a scrivet removal tool from supercrap or autopun. i got one for loose change, makes life easier.

Yeah, I just just ended up tearing those plastic / rubber ones out. Will use proper ones once I fix the kit in place. Got the front all day, took the rear off and realised my tow bar had to come off, that took a little while as my sockets weren't long enough rofl

Pretty sure its the BA kit. Was yours made out of fibreglass or proper plastic like OE? Trying to find places that will touch fibreglass...
