Anyone managed to remove their headlight lenses on an EF ?
I've got mine out at moment and there's clip all the way around which look as though they'd be holding the lens on, but even after prying with a screw driver it doesnt seem to want to come loose. I want to blacken the insides, similar to the AU TS50s

Funny, because my blinker lens just fell off when I tried to remove it (put my hand on the lens to slide the unit out, and the lens slid off and the rest stayed put!
Blackjack, if you get bored chuck it in the oven for me and see if it comes off

Bah, the cake can wait. LOL
That reminds me of about 10 years ago when I was at school and had a keyboard with keys that always stuck. They were $100 odd back then so I washed it in soapy water (as can be done) but needed it in a hurry so I put it in the oven to dry it out. I got distracted and came back 10 mins later to the worlds first "ergonmic keyboard"

heat gun on the edges and pry it open o so gently. or some chemical that eats sealant
use hotglue to seal it with the clips again. |

I'm not sure how to remove the lens. I bought mine off ebay. This particular seller has them for any falcon from about XE to EL, as well as ones for commodores and a couple of other cars.
http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll ... 02111&rd=1 They aren't cheap, if you can do your own it would be better.

Thanks for the link, I haven't seen any around before. Dammit, always someone else doing the things I want to!
As you say they're a bit steep, and they're not even new. I'm thinking of opening them up and mounting a different set of lights behind the lenses, like these monaro style ones. I've gotta find a VT and measure it up to see how close the dimensions are before I prep for surgery BJ, thanks for trying yours in the oven. It must be a small one not to fit them in though ??? Fuz, a heat gun may be the way to go. Mine are already a little yellowed (despite constant intervention) so I might have a play with them, and at the worst I'll wind up buying a shiny clear new set for ~$150
