Hello,

paint stripper you can get it in a 5L tin you use a brush to put it on and a scraper to take it off, its messy but the fastest way to do it.

I was reading the tins of paintstripper at autobarn, and they all said 'Not for use on plastic'
Is there a particular brand or type that is suitable for plastic??
Some one suggested brake fluid, but i dont know about that...

Cheers
David

You can use a paint brush to apply the paint stripper. Have a nylon brush and some warm soapy water nearby to wash it off as soon as the paint bubbles up. If you work on small areas, the stripper won't have time to eat into the plastic. Perhaps try a small patch on the bottom of the bar first to see how the stripper reacts with the paint.

Another option is to just sand off the areas that are flaking. Dry sand the existing paint with 400 grit paper, spray the bare areas with Plastic Primer first and then the whole bumper with several coats of spray putty (with Flex Add) to even out the low spots & stone chips.

I've just finished painting my old front bumper and it was quite time consuming waiting for all the coats of different paint to dry, plus sanding.
