My front left door has a pin stripe on it as it is a new door but haven't removed the stripe yet.

From what i've heard get the hair dryer out, heat the strip up and put some windex on it and it should come off really easy.

Too lazy to do it myself at the moment. Same with the black strips, just heat it up and start peeling it off. Will get round to it soon.

Cheers

I wouldn't remove them if I was you, but replace them with EL Ghia ones, the one with body coloured strips and chrome stripeing.

Some people definately prefer the clean look of no strips but it's definately personal opinion.

Good choice going the ghia ones.

They are just door moulds that are stuck on the doors with double sided tape of industrial quality. Here a photo of the front left door that i have lying around....I reckon you could probably pick up the four for about $60. Also depending on your car, if it is a i6 you may have to replace the decal on them which are about $10 each, or same as the 5.0 V8 decal which are also $10 each.

Also depends what colour your car is....if your car is regency red you might have some luck and find them in that colour, but if you car is cardinal red or whatever then you'll probably have to get them repainted....should get them done for around the $50.

Also go for the EL Ghia ones as EF Ghia ones don't have chrome in them, they are just the same as EF Fairmont ones.

Cheers

She's right, if you don't ask questions you never get!!!!

Just try local wreckers.....to name a few:

Ford Apex Salvage in Thomastown - 94640511
Sydney Road Wrecker in Fawkner - 93593900
Australian Auto Wrecker in Thomastown - 93596066
Allford in Braeside - 95805535
Andy's Autos in Broadmeadows - 93573577
Comm Ford Recyclers in Dandenong - 97013060
Fairmont Ghia in Oakleigh Sth - 95487000
Falcons Just Falcons in Bayswater Nth - 97616887
FERNTREE GULLY AUTO SALVAGE IN FERNTREE GULLY - 97586900
(had to put that one in bold incase Darren reads this post)
Ford Auto Salvage in Clayton Sth - 95478422
Jefferson Ford Car Wreckers in Moorabbin - 95554494
Auto Salvage Vic. in Dandenong - 97915500

If you try all them and don't have any luck then let me know cause i've got a list of about another 10 or so.

Hope this helps.

Oh and I forgot to mention you will need the strips for the front and rear bars aswell, thats if you want to put them on!!!!

C'mon mate - Dave has pretty much spoon fed you lol...We're not psychic...we can't tell who's got what.

To give you an idea, I paid ~$300 to get my EL Ghia door moulds (new)...with clear side repeaters and surrounds and this was all painted in arctic blue about 2 + years ago.

I'm sure you would be able to find some at wreckers...but may be hard pressed to get them in the colour you want. Personally, I'd also consider the double height moulds (same as EL Ghia, ML Fairlane etc), but perhaps don't get the chrome ones...reason I make mention is because I don't think your EF II has any chrome on it ? (ie EL Fairmonts have chrome grilles - EF Fairmonts don't)...anyway personal opinion --> the EL GT doesn't have any chrome on it at all - look at a pic of the door moulds on one...looks pretty clean IMO.

My 2c,
Steve
