Tonight realised that my left healdight was blown completely. Hihg beams work fine but normal healdight doesnt.
At the risk of asking a stupid questions and since I have never doen this, how do I change the bulb and what is best on XR lights? |

Take the airbox out and you have plenty of room to change the left globe.
Unscrew the cover from behind the light and pull it to the side. Unhook the two metal clip arms and rotate them up and out of the way. Can be bastard with the wires being in the way. Pull globe out of hole. Pull wiring off back of globe. Grab the metal part so you dont snap the wires. Then slot in new globe on to metal connector. DO NOT TOUCH THE GLASS GLOBE PART. The globe metal base can only go in one way. Put it in. Rotate arms back down so they clip in place. Put cover back on TADA!! Its all done. If you take the airbox out put that back in. |

i've done both sides on mine a few times. only thing i've taken out is the battery. other side can do as is. would be easier with airbox out but not essential. as far as globes go i just put std motorcraft ones back in.

I got pretty good at changing the drivers side globes in XRs that my wife got me to come to her work and help change a friends globe in the carpark. Took me all of 10 minutes, thats without taking the battery out.
