No, not end of story. The standard factory temp gauge in my ED actually cost me an engine. It wasnt the sender and it wasnt the wiring. I holed a radiator while working the car hard through kangaroo valley, south of Sydney and the s**t standard temp gauge was oblivious to what was going on, just sat where it always sat at operating temp, meanwhile all my pistons were making love to the cylinder block in a very heated exchange. Since installing the Autometer temp gauge, I had a similar problem (bottom radiator hose). As soon as it started to heat up the HIGHLY ACCUARATE after market gauge let me know and probably saved me more heart ache. But maybe I'm just a gay ricer after all.

look my original post said gauges on an NA car are gay. By that I meant a stock car.
I understand they are useful, i understand you need to monitor things when you are running a serious setup that's all cool.
That said, rarely people match their gauges with their interior and they look stupid, and i think they look out of place outside the car.
