Hello, I've got an EF wagon and it's a great car but I'm sick of losing the rim covers so I want to get some alloys. My question is which ones? I can decide on colour and style but...Will 15's be worth it? Do I need to get brakes/shocks adjusted if I go up to 16's or 17's? What about my speedo? What tyres? Hope this isn't to boring for someone to reply.
Thanks |

Thanks the size basically depends on ur tastes. nothing will need to be adjusted as the tyre place will put on a set of tyres to suit the rim and keep the speedo to within about 1% of its old calibration. so it all comes down to what u think looks good and how much u have to spend.

nothing is ever too boring on here, cept for EF SVO's "quirky" replys. But in the end it all comes down to your taste and your wallet!
I changed mine to 15" alloys, simple ones because stuffed if I am going to sit for 30 minutes on each one cleaning them with a toothbrush. Also at the time I couldn't afford really expensive ones. Not that I can now either but they look nice to me and that is all that matters!!

Thanks very much EFF and Happy. I can scrounge about 650-700 so I reckon I can get a decent set of 15's. It might sound a bit lame but I kind of wanted biger rims b/c I reckon the rear weel arches on the wagon look a bit empty. 15's sound fine now though.
Man it's good to be able to talk tom someone who isnt a salesman. Thanks again. |

have a gander at the cars in the gallery's and you'll see a huge range of rims on falcon cars. If you find some you like then pm the owner for details!

agree 110% mate - wagon wheel arches are the devil! i had an EF wagon, and got it dumped - looked pretty cool! i have photos around here somewhere - i'll see if i can find a decent one!
but yep - personally i like the EB S-Pack's/XR rims, or the EF XR's - both in 15's. but... for that money, you *might* be able to get some of those lovely EF/EL XR8 rims in 16's - the houndstooth ones - they are awesome!

Man it's good to be able to talk tom someone who isnt a salesman. Thanks again. Bigger rims won't fill out your arches any better - because you get smaller tyres. To fill the arches, you need to lower it.

Ugly bob, thanks for that, I definitely see the improve. Think I better get investigating how to lower it THEN get some alloys. BTW very tidy unit!

heh, it kinda reminds me of those old citroens with the air bag suspension. When the cars stopped the rear end sags and they look ridiculous.

I was very tidy until he wrote it off and got done for DD. Now he drives an even lower XR6 wannabee. (in other words, it looks like an XR, is probably faster, but its not an XR, although i'd rather this over an XR)
