yeh ive been lead to belive its over all diamiter of the wheel not rim .
see im gonna get 18 inch rims and get the diamiter wheel from 17 inch tyers , so what happens is my rim is 18 inches but the tyer is the diamiter of a standard 17 inch rim tyer. but what changes is the side wall and profile of the tyer, this is why u hear people having 18 inch rims and low profile tyers so it makes it legal. but the draw back is that lower profile tyers have shorter side walls and on turns and bums the rim can warp crack and buckle. so my suggestion is go the 17s and dump it hard over the rim so it give the illusion of a bigger rim wallllllaaaaaaaaa problem fixed lol. and the 2 inch rule is 2 inches for aussy and euro cars and 1 inch for asian cars thats what ive heard dont know why. or it was a rule some chicks bf made up to get it going lollllllll lol. |

Fairly certain that in Vic you can go up 2 inches in diameter on stock before you have to re-calibrate the speedo...
Also very certain that maximum wheel width for the front of any car in Vic is 8 inches, 10 at the back.... But of course these rules are waived if a car is built differently from the factory, dunno why but it is... Correct me if I'm wrong.... |

Questions is tho, what was DUMPT doing at the time to bring attention to himself so the coppers had a look. I dont know the guy, but if you dont play up, they generally leave you alone. i know this cause we took the Torrie(methanol 400chev in a lj with 12 rears and 3in fronts and chute attached) for a cruise through Geroge st on Sat night and didnt get looked at, but we played nice so why would they.
And saying that insurance companies are up to speed on legalities is crap, cause NRMA insured mine even with the NOS, so go figure Brett

Oh yeah insurance companies don't know s**t.
Or they DO know s**t, but only at the time when you make a claim, and they can use that s**t to get out of paying! I hate insurance companies with a passion.

Why dont you just go 17's!!
They look good and handle good!! And the tyres are heaps cheaper than 18's and you wont have any problems with cops, insurance etc!! |
