AFAIK .... you can go as large a diameter as you like as long as overall tyre diameter doesn't exceed 15mm +/- the original sizing.
So 19 or 20" can be used .... as long as you use the correct aspect ratio on the tyre to keep it as close to the factory overall diameter of the tyre. That was my understanding.

In Queensland you can change the diameter, but you must keep the outside rolling diameter between +15mm or -26mm with low profile tyres. Also mixing and matching with stockies is not legal. Not too sure about width though..... Try downloading the pdf file from Queensland Transport, it has alot of info on Car Mods permitted in QLD, i found it cleared up a few things |

Ok, you may also want to check with your insurer, as was the case with mine in QLD and as I was advised by a member of the local plod, (it is to some extent to thier disretion to make you prove it or fine you) On the car somewhere there will be a sticker located, oftern inside the back door, it will list the largest wheel size released on that model car and from there you can go 2 sizes up. ie if it lists 16 on the sticker even if you have 15's on, you can therefore go to an 18.
Yes laws may state otherwise but alot of insurers still stick to these rulings.
