Thought i'd start a thread dedicated to progress pics and info about the respray. Anyway, since my mates come back from overseas and also now that i've purchased almost everything i need to get the car back on the road, progress has once again commenced on the car.

The last few days have been dedicated to getting the engine bay stripped, prepped and sprayed. After a few setbacks and about 6 blown power fuses (really gotta invest in a circuit breaker for the garage power ) we managed to get the engine bay sprayed Huge thanx goes out to my mate Ivan as there is no way i could have done this by myself...

The engine bay stripped of all looms, k frame, hoses etc etc

The color looks absolutely fantastic and i'm really glad i chose mercury silver as opposed to the alternatives i was contemplating.

Tomorrow we'll be tackling all the small jobs like bogging and scuffing back the remaining door jams, and the bonnet will be taken upto my mates place in Noojee were he'll be spending 1-2 days prepping it. I will also be organizing a day were i can get the new brake lines made up and will also be redoing all engine gaskets to make sure she's not gunna be squirting oil on the fershly painted engine bay once it's back in. I've actually taken 2 weeks annual leave from work so that i can make some decent progress on this thing as it's been sitting in the garage far too long without being touched...

Check out this thread soon for more progress shots including some proper shots of how the bay looks in the sun

his using 2 pac, only the engine bay was to be done in the garage, we want to be able to put the car 1/2 back together so its easier to get to the spray booth.

The project is comming along quit nicely i see. So is the WRX front bar a goer or have you decided on a different bar all together?
Cannot wait till its finished.

The WRX bar is a goer, it has been repaired of all inperfections and it shouldn't be long before we get the whole car in primer...

nice engine bay. I've always wanted to respray mine in black, just can't justify the work involved in moving everything lol.

Ahhh good to see you stuck with the WRX front bar. Now i definately cant wait to see the finished product. You aiming for a magazine feature or anything when its done? Would be a good read.
