ok i have just finished my rocker cover.

it used to be gloss black but when i went to touch up a bad spot i accidently used the flat black so it lost its shine :(

but apart from that i think it looks great. because i used black it looks like a factory cover. my next one will be white with silver fins, but will be a 4.0 cover not a 3.9.

it involved some petrol for cleaning, a few old rags, $12 can of engine enamel (colour of choice) and some 100gritt sandpaper on a RUBBER sanding block (as the cheap sanding blacks bend and scratch the top of the cover where u dont want to sand) use small sections of sand paper for the delicate areas and detail. and last but not least about 2 hours of sanding (due to 8 coats of paint)

ok enough of what i did and more of the pics :D

**i dont have the origional pic of the cover on my computer so i found this one on ebay which looks almost exactly the same only mine had a heap of small white dot things on it**

now the worst thing that can happen when writing up is the batteries in the camera go flat. so there on charge now and ill post the finished pics in about 20-30 mins

if your interested in maybe buying one of these off me let me know and ill make a few up and post pics and see what you all think. i will do them in choice of colour (must be heat resistant) and there is also a anodised paint which i will be trying shortly.

let me know what you all think
cheers
huggiebear

the next one im going to do will be white for my new car. after that im doing a annodised cover (coloured chrome) available in red purple and blue. ill probebly do it the purple to be different. that will be an interesting one i think. due to the amount of heat i only have a limited amount of colours. i will be searching for asmany colours ect as i can possibly get. estimated cost for these will be around $60 exchange which is quite cheap considering the work in them and it has 8 coats of paint and minimum 2 hours sanding non stop

it took about 2 - 2 1/2 hours to sand the paint off as its a thick paint and there was about 8 coats on it. im going to buy some autosol and polish it up real well so it shines :d

try painting it white. then spraying the black over, then lightly sanding in the hope of revealing the white underneath?

I am interested in purchasing one perhaps in black or red. Would you post?

How about painting the entire rocker cover in chrome and do the lines and OHC in black.
