Hey mate did you sand the rocker cover inbetween the undercoat and the colour coat? or did ya just paint straight over the undercoat??? cheers mate TOP JOB!!! |

spent forever and a day using paint stripper so that the surface was nice and clean. Gave it a quick going over with a fine sandpaper and then applied a few coats of anodized base coat (recommended if using anodized top coat)
Allowed a few hours for it to dry and then applied the final colour. Turned out rather well

i sanded mine back hard to get rid of the texture, primed it, sanded it, then used a wet on wet primer, and sprayed it body color and used 2k clear.
has awesome shine and holds up well to the heat. if u know a spray painter, it should only cost u about $50 for materials. even when the gloss starts to dull u can just polish the clear again. i'll try get some photos tomorrow |

Depends on the place, be about $50 for a rocker cover though.

Mine was simply sandblasted, sprayed with VHT Engine Primer, then VHT Engine Enamel in Ford Light Blue.
Oh, and by the way guys, it's "rocket cover" hehe

Hey icwoodsy i was just woundering wat part number was the paint that you used, because that color is F**KING unbeleivable... im not much of a painter but do u (or anybody) think if you put a light layer of black as the bottom layer then put the 3 layers of red that it would come up as a dark red or do u think it would just rouin it?
again that looks unbeleivable...

SP450 Anodised Red... dont know about the light layer of black... i'm pretty sure that you need to use the anodised undercoat to get the finish... but you could give it a go on a piece of scrap... or a fence post and see what happens... it will look a little darker once you bolt it back on... |
