hey i was looking for a faster way to wax my car , so i decided to purchase a electric car
polisher from supercheap its one of the cheap types ROCKWELL RS4900 $89.OO , and now i've heard the cheaper polishers arn't safe and they can burn into ya paint and there not safe on clear coats just wondering if this is true ? if any one uses an electric polisher or can give us some more info on this topic would be greatly apreiated .thanks.

hi mate, run my own pro detailing bus. and will warn u too stay away from el cheapo buffers, especially ones that are solid orbital, not random orbital. I use a mint random orbit buffer with lake country ccs pads, was about $600 for a starter kit, try www.waxit.com.au, all the best gear you will find.....but whatever you do dont use wool pads on a cheap orbital buffer.......not good at all!

If its orbital your right (doesnt usually do jack S*#t). Rotary (looks like a grinder) but be extreemly carfull.
Rotary buffers can burn paint the second you touch it on the cars surface.
If this is what you have (that is the price of the rotary) get a decent foam pad and some light to medium cutting compound (Super cheap-Meguires do a good set of compounds).
At a lower speed 1000-3000 rpm it is safe-ish.
Be carful though dont be tempted to ramp up the rpm or sit on one spot too long!
Have a squiz at youtube to get a good idea on technique.
