not sure about Vic but you can use bolt on adapters, not spacers, in a few states. if you get adapters you may be able to get them engineered so you can't get defected for them. i know Cobra has them and his are engineered here in the ACT.

I Looked into this for my EL before I got my new AU, I wrang up the RTA and they stated that you can only use rims that were designed for your vehicle, and that putting on bolt on adapters it would be classed as un-roadworthy.

Might be different if you have an engineers Cert though???

Good Luck, they will look amazing once they are on!!!

the fr19s still need adapters don't they? the fronts rub i think, least that's what Dave (ELXR8) was saying.
I think in Vic you can get adapters engineered pyro, just do a bit of riniging around.

ROH is one manufacturer that still makes wheels to suit early falcon

You can get Simmons made to any offset and width you desire, so they shouldnt rub on anything.

EL GT's came with 17's so you can get 19's on EL's

How many times does it have to be said, you can go any diameter you want as long as the rolling diameter stays the same, ie lower profile tyres.

judgeing by that law your aloud to get 19's on el gt's not all el's it depends on what size rim it come out with standard.

i was reading the victorian vehcial modification laws a while ago and by that it didnt matter what size rim you go aslone as the while tyre and rim didnt exceed 25mm wider then standard and 15mm higher then standard, which is annoying because 19 inch tyres are couple mm to large to be legal with my car (standard 225/50 r16)

There are a few issues regarding the legallity and a few comments here are correct.

You must keep withinn a certain mm from the standrd rolling dimensions but this is very straight forward from memory 265/30 19's are 2mm different to 235/45 17's.

The other issue is the vehicle must have wheels no more than 2inches larger than the largest available factory option wheel for that model of car. In this case the EL GT came out with 17's which were also a factory option on the other EL falcons so 2inches larger is 19's. most insurance companies are more concerned with the width but if you wish to go more then 2inches larger you must have the vehicle engineered with those wheels.

Fr19's can't be just bought off the shelf at any tyre/wheel place.
An order must be placed through simmons and they make to the correct offset for your vehicle so that no adaptors are required.
Car is lowered but not superlow or ultra low but not as high as an XR8 from factory.
Have 235/35 tyres, no need to roll gaurds and have enough clearance to lower control arm.
I just got my set 2 weeks ago and no better wheel suits the EF/EL series than these, that's my opinion.
When I saw Dave's car on here (ELXR8) I stopped looking and went to Simmons.
Some people don't like them, you need to be sure because each wheel costs $837.
