okay ive had paint bubbling on BOTH rear 1/4 panels for some time now, and what really pisses me off is that there was no sign of rust before i sent it away to the panel beaters when i got rear ended and it started to bubble about 2-3 weeks after getting it back, seeing as both panels/boot lid/bumper had been sprayed i was quite p****d off....

now what i need to know is are those 1/4 panels removable individually or are they a part of the body like on EF/L's and that black L-shaped trim there just for show?

if i can get my hands on 2 good nick panels it will do me fine till i either sell it or respray it (still not sure how much $$$ i wanna spend on it) but if i cant replace the panels i will be saving pretty frantically for a rust cut/spray cos nothing says POS like rust....

you cant remove them (without cutting anyway), they are welded on

take it back to yhe panel beater, any descent shop give lifetime warranty on their jobs, well we do anyway. take it up with the beater or take it to the insurance company.

To be honest mate Im pretty sure the panel beaters didnt cause the rust because it takes alot longer than 2-3 weeks for rust to start to bubble, If it was me doing the job and saw the rust I would of informed the customer and asked what they wanted done with it, but the panel beaters job is to fix the damage caused by the accident not any other previous underlying damage.

Yeah but is it rust or just s**t paint prep? Under the flares on my ute the paint is bubbling but it ain't rust; it's just s**t painting preperation. the paint just didn't stick after some panel repairs (by a previous owner )

if you can see rust now you would have seen it before. i would say s**t prep is to blame. he has nothing to loose by taking it back
