G'day all
first post,
just got my first car today; Black Ford Fairlane NCII 1993
i have absolutely no knowledge of cars, haven't even got a license yet.. 2 days to go.
just wanting to know if anyone has an LTD grille to fit my car, im just looking to improve the aesthetics, i think it would make it look the part.
im also not too happy with the stock rims, im looking for ideas. dont want it looking too flash, maybe just some chrome 12 slotters or something similar. let us know if you have anything to offer!
cheers

12 slotters look crap on anything after the 80's. Personally I'd try to find some DF LTD rims. They look awesome on NCs

A black NC eh? Nice.. Got any pics?

Keep an eye out on ebay, there aren't any on there at the moment though.

Also post a wanted to buy thread, I sold an LTD grill to a guy on here after he PM'ed me almost a year after I had advertised it.

I was also PM'ed by another guy on here asking me if I wanted to buy one for another car I had.

So it may take a while, but they're out there.. :P

If you get really desperate I've got one grill here, but it's cracked in two places. It could be repaired at home or by a plastic welder, but it would be better to try and source one that isn't damaged.

i guess ill just have to keep searching. im in no rush really so i could bear to wait a year :P

edit..
actually how much would it cost to get the plastic re-done? and where is a cracked?

Yeah I put an LTD grille on my 89 NA. Looks a lot better than the stock grille (and even moreso for the NCs - the grilles on those looked absolutely crap - almost as crap as the early colour coded NA ones)

I see them from time to time at the wreckers so if I come accross a good one I will pick it up.

For the grill?

I'm not too sure, I live in Tas. But a decent bodyworks should be able to set you onto one.

Or you could use some strong glue..

G'day Champ! Welcome to FM and congrats on your first car......good choice I might add
Search around and see if you can find one locally, if not I have one on my DC LTD parts car. I could be convinced to part with it, it is complete and undamaged, just one of the brackets is a little bent which makes it sit unevenly, but easy fix.

many, many options there to choose from, find a set you like and then set up a saved search on ebay to track a set down

maybe i could convince you then :P how would you go about fixing it? and how much do you reckon i could pick up an audio unit/radio for? mines kaput. Ive been searching on gumtree and eBay etc but there aren't many people wrecking fairlanes locally. just want to get an average price. id rather not get a new one, i think it would clash with the interior, rather keep that all stock
