Where as the falcon/furta bonnet series 1 gets the XR bonnet. So you will need either a series 1 fairmont or fairmont ghia, or any AU2-3 bonnet expect XR |

the series 1 au bonnet has a little hanging thing in the middle front for the ford badge. series 1 au falcon bonnets only have this. to put this bonnet on another au means you need a series 1 grill as it has and indent in it. so if transplanting an au 1 bonnet and bumper over, you will also need the au 1 grill unless it is a fairmont or better.

low series AU2 and 3 utes have the same bonnet as lower spec AUI's
In regards to sedans though ... AUII onwards used the high series bonnets from memory

Hi All, I thought I'd post in here rather than begin another thread.
After reading this thread I'm still uncertain as to whether a "High Series" Au bonnet will fit nicely onto a series 2 Au XR8? There's a particular scoop I like but it won't really look right with the XR bonnet due to the centre line/profile of the bonnet but it should look ok with the high series. I've never seen the original Quad light XR front with a high series bonnet... Any advice appreciated, Cheers,

the series 2 or high series bonnet will physically fit the xr8 but the shape is different and will leave a odd gap between the xr8 nose and bonnet,

Back to the drawing board...
Thanks for the feedback, Cheers,
