Sure can! Provided you have the V8 to hold it up there!

damn things are overpriced if you ask me, $1700+ for one that will fit a 302W but they do set a car off nicely, I'm still working on my EF mod, trying to use a old style shaker, less the aircleaner base, just need to figure out the base plumbing.
don't suppose anyone has some detailed pics of what's under the BA shaker kits actual shaker, how it's all plumbed in, their website doesn't show to much at all, I asked the suppliers and they weren't very helpful

why you would want one on an xt.. i don't know..
but theres a guy over at fordxr6turbo.com who would be able to help you out. I think his name is "macka'sxr6t", he put a shaker on his XR6T ute so i dare say it'd be a similar task to put one on the non turbo 6. He did it to the flat bonnet which imo looks better than the shaker + bulge. |

Isnt the whole idea of the original shaker scoop to proivide air to the air filter. Fitting to an EFI car with an airbox mounted in the front left of the engine bay makes no sense. I think fitting a scoop with no purpose just groups you with all the commo drivers with s**t bonnet scoops. Anyway arent you back dating your car by about 35 years. Just my opinion.

maybe it no longer uses the airbox?

I've seen a shaker kit for the BA V8's that plumbs into the intake so it actually does get some cool air thru it, while it also sucked thru the front air intake too. If it can be plumed into an 8, no reason it cant be adapted to a 6.

Ok - if it has some function i would not think it is too bad. It all comes down to taste. I am not a big fan of putting parts from older cars onto new ones. Ok the GT stripes are all good but the shaker scoop was designed for an engine that had a carby that sat in the middle of the engine bay and needed air. Not really relevant for the new model wher the throttle body is at the front of the motor with a sealed intake pipe leading to the front left corner.
But each to their own and no further comments from me on this one. |
