can't u just get some scrap metal rods and cut it to a certain length and use that as a popper?

yeah there is nothing to say you cant you just dont want the top peice to thin so it doesnt hurt your finger when you push i have even used a coat hanger when e did the handles on a mates dato ute and just put a little rubber bit on top |

How are you going to seal it so that when it pops back down water stays out. I was just thinkin that there might be a chance of water getting into the door.

the amount of water that will get though will be stuff all not even worth worrying about and it doesnt matter if a bit does anyway it all drains out though the bottom same as when water gets through between the window and it poor excuse for a seal |

i can vouch for that poor excuse for a seal....lol
went camping got home an felt the bottem of my door trim....all the velour was soaked bout an inch up. took all the trims off an dryed them by the fire. wasnt impressed. |
