I made mine myself. Took me all of about 45mins to do, but I'd prefer an adjustable one instead of "on/off" after having mine as it is.

Technically yes they're better for your gearbox because there's less friction on the bands/clutch packs cos they don't break the drive for as long. In reality it probably won't prolong the life of a gearbox for much longer than one without a kit. If you have a sloppy diff like mine you really feel the shiftkit hahaha, pretty much every gearchange below 4000rpm it goes BANG lol.

yep they can, its just the same as fitting a wolf to your car, a change to the computer managment system (in their eyes), BUT..... if it only takes 15secs to remove the Really Poor Development one then smash into somthing then remove the shift kit?

i built my shiftkit for $6, took 20 mins to fit.

P.S. MAKE SURE you increase the amount of servicing your gearbox gets, and prob safe to fit a trans cooler.

p.p.s this should be in the "driveline forum"

Build your own dude. 2 x 10 watt resistors, a bit of cable and a switch and it will be easy s**t. Works just as well.

I made mine and i have been playing with shift kits for different cars and that.

It is fun in the wet too. I had the wheels spinning from 1st to 2nd in a bit of rain... Its fun as..

I highly recommend that you dont have it on when in places like the adelaide hills. High speeds and sharp corners with a shift kit is bad news. I put the shift kit on when i went to overtake and when i chenged lanes the grea box changed and kicked the a** end out almost causing me to spin....

SO ONLY USE IT IN THE STRAIGHTS....
