BF SR right? I like the exhaust - how much that set you back? as well as modifying the rear bar so you could see the tip

awesome mate , thats pretty cheap, its just the tip? does it actually change the exhaust note or not?

Cheers, to be honest its just been a combination of good timing and luck on ebay, and a really cheap car to start with in the first place (see comment below..) otherwise it wouldnt even be close to what it looks like now.

nah just a forte i wish i started with a fairmont tho.
Bought it from the auctions, was found floating and bumping into other cars in a underground carpark from newcastle floods lol
fourl6 ive seen your car in the flesh before and thats pretty clean AU as well, the cobra rims suit it spot on! whats in store for the next car any ideas?

howd you go swapping the forte and fairmont heater boxs? do they use the same firewall etc...? alot of time and effort must have gone into that wagon... you get the sunroof installed? any engine shots?

as for next car... who knows...? lol.... as for selling the au... who knows...? im not really trying lol

Yeah i did a fair bit of homework on it before giving it a shot, the dash i got from a bloke on here its orig out of a T2 TS50 but i missed out on the climate and dash spear so just bought fairmont ones and the xr cluster.
It was bolted in and wired up in bout 5 hours but just had to program the new BEM to my keys.
Was fairly straight forward everything was pretty much a straight swap, couple of tricky things but the hardest part was taking off the 2 heater hoses in the engine bay side of the firewall and re attaching them to the new heater, absolute prick of a spot with the motor still in!

Bought a El sunroof took it to precision sunroofs in oakleigh and he ended up putting some other type in cos the au has a slightly different shape roof?
He did a good job though and havnt had any probs so far.
Currently doing a buld thread for it on ford forums if your on there, otherwise will copy it to here as well once its all finished.
Motor is fairly stock for now, vct and 5 speed will be in really soon hopefully.

Cheers mate i reckon they look alright as long as you dont overdo it with stickers ect.
I bought the bonnet with bulge in primer from a dodgy bloke in sydney he had it shipped down here to find it was all cracked and had been dropped either before or during freighting.
I lost my money with him as he simply avoided the whole situation then didnt return my calls and his account was cancelled from ebay.
I had to pull the fibreglass mould off and throw the bonnet away ( i think you can get the fibreglass moulds on ebay by themselves now tho?) i then stuck it down with some stuff called sikaflex to a new bonnet, pop riveted the corners and along the back then bogged the sides and sanded it all flush.
Bit of work involved if i was you id prob look at getting a full fibreglas one though as im prob going to have to redo mine.
I accidently dropped it shut the other day without the gas struts in and cos the bonnets are so thin and flimsy it has cracked the bog at the edge of the mould at the back.
The mould will never come off on its own but im worried theres too much flex in the bonnet and might keep cracking.

AWC do complete fibreglass bonnets. So do Kurnell Kustoms.

Your better off getting a complete fibreglass moulded bonnet rather then have a fibreglass bulge on a steel bonnet.
