I think they were imported by a company Ash. They have a surprising amount over there, Xr6s and Xr8s too.

Was yours sold there or was it imported privately?

Hi, Mine was imported privately when it was new but there was a company importing a lot of LPG utes and changing the name to 'Verte Tempest'
Unfortunatly there isnt much infomation on what happened to the company but plenty of motors still come up on ebay every now and again.

Strange how its mostly AU's over here! I have seen one BA ute on ebay at the moment but they want £11,500 (roughly $15,000) for it :x

Its the backspace I'm struggling with, I tried some Mustang wheels but they rubbed on the suspension at the front! might have to reluctantly use some spacers

That's great, I honestly had no idea at all there were that many. I have a handful of AU's myself. You can see my 5.0 ute in my sig plus I buy quite a few and part them out, I have 3 of them at the moment.

I know you guys love your LPG like we do here in Aus so I can see why the dedicated LPG ute would be a big seller. $15k for a BA ute didn't sound that bad considering its an import. Here decent BA utes still get around the 10k mark, XR's more obviously. But if you were to buy something like a Chevy ute here that had been imported and it may sell for around 10k in the US, then you would expect to pay about 40k here. I know the R/H conversion costs a lot but looks like you guys get a sweet deal on imports compared to us.

Why do we do it to ourselves? imports?? nothing but expence and hassle! that said if I had the money my garage would look quite similar to your signature 8-)
