I haven't decided if I want to keep them, to sell for re-sale when its time, or sell them when I upgrade. I will let you know when time comes. |

Looks so nice. XR9UTE! cool colour.
Now to remove the mudflaps, do it quick because they leave marks on the paint. Espicially when its sitting nice and low. AND WOW thats a long time to wait! I waited for 2 months for mine to be built and I was almost chewing my hand off because it was taking to long |

Cheers Jordan!
Yeah I know about the mudflaps...took em off yesterday after they hit the ground a coupla times already when driving into some steeper driveways. It looks like it had already marked the paint but was in fact the plastic off the mudflaps that had rubbed off onto the paint and just came straight off. Lucky they made em out of soft plastic! I knew I'd have to wait awhile with Prodrive selling out of FPV and the obvious turmoil that was cause. So I wasn't bothered too much, with this one completely made in the Ford factory. I've heard of others waiting 8 months, and that was last year!? Roy Lane(Lane Ford) reckons I'm the most patient customer he's ever had, with most people threatening cancelling the order after only a month!? The main thing that I don't like about buying an FPV is the lack of delete options and not being able to switch things like wheels. I actually wanted the wheels you have but they gave me this bull s**t story about the wheels having data dots on them. I said "the data dot spray doesn't care what wheels you spray em on!?"...no response from the dumb a*** indian at the call centre. Same with the roll bar...can't delete. So I asked if they would supply me a Tonneau cover without holes in it...NO. Delete the stripes? NO Can I have white ones then? NO. Ok, I'll have silver NO only black is available now...it showed up with Silver...WTF!? Looks like engine number 5 from the Geelong engine plant.... |

Love the GS...performance bargin...Has anyone used Plastidip? - about to do the Ford 19"s in matte black Plastidip...I have read and watched most youtube clips and it looks a good way to seeing how they might look...I went this way for a number of reasons.
1. Powder Coat - concern over baking at 400 degrees for 10 minutes and effecting alloy...To much heat for too long a time and you will reduce the strength and the Brinell harness of the alloy (Warranty) 2. Spraying - durability and cost I will forward pics when complete...looking to do mirrors as well... Cheers |

Hey mate my sports bar and mirror backs in the above pics are done with matte black plastidip its quite easy to use.
Also the side on pic of my old ute has satin black powder coated stock rims on it never had any issues with heat damaging them. Hope that helps a bit.

Cheers for the feedback...all the comments about damaged powder coated rims I've read about are generally overseas and showed cracked rims etc...particularly Subura rims (22B). How well did the plastidip last etc... Cheers |

Too right ryanda, GS = Performance bargain!
I'm not much help on the plastidip stuff. I'd probably 2pak the wheels myself. I may have to because most of the wheels I want don't seem to come in Silver!? |

Hi ryanda - yeah have not had any issues with plastidip mate but its only been on for a few weeks as I only recently bought the car but its a great way to get an idea of how your colour schemes might look whilst still being able to reverse it easily if you don't like it.

RYANDA,
I used plastidip on my badges on another car and plasti dipped the rims. Trick is to make sure the masking is done perfectly and the tape is right up against the inner lip of the rim where it meets the Tyre so as to get a good coat on the rim of the alloy. Take your time with coats. less is more. I did 5 relatively light coats. Make sure you thoroughly clean your rims. prep is the key. This is how they came out in matte black.
