Sick of not having any money and an inability to mod my car, so some budget mods are in order, the stock headlights
Grabbed some clear indicator equipped headlights (as well as some other things ) from the ferntree gully auto salvage 'all you can carry' sale, and on a very restless night, decided to attempt to peel them apart at 5am. Frustration was running high, as they didn't fit in my oven, I tried the hairdryer for one of them, took about an hour... so with the other headlight I through it in the bathtub and filled it with hot tap water, the glue got hot and within 5 mins, had it separated! Relief Got a butter knife and slipped it down the indicator sides to pop the three clips in, sliding the clear indicator out, and then one screw and the headlight bezel slides out, with a quick 600 wet n' dry sand, then a blast of some wax and grease remover, three coats of a dark blue touch up can from autobahn, and two coats of clear coat. Pop the front bumper off, and take the headlights out and bath em'. Chuck the new freshly painted bezels in and the clear indicators, grab my old indicator globes and give em a quick spray with some yellow paint... till I get some orange globes While I had the front bumper off I popped the grills off and gave em a few coats of black followed by clear, just for a change. I am going to replace it after all as its a bit of a lancer grill, shut up cam! After photos posted tomorrow, when its daylight! |

good job mate...
lukas u can do it to ef/el lights too, the outer section is a seperate item the the actual reflector. its a messy job and u will need the use a bit of silicon to reseal them, otherwise u run the risk of them leaking and fogging up in the wet watch out u dont touch the chrome reflectors either, if u try and use glass cleaner on the chrome it will basically wipe the chrome off |

Set me back $20 for the spray paint and sandpaper
Dont bother with the silicon as the glue used, reseals itself, just have to keep the glue warm and the rest is brute strength till you reach the clips |

Looks good. They really suit the TS50 look you've got going. I've done a similar mod to my EA headlights and indicators and they came out great!
