Yep, it's fairly fine silver mesh so at an angle with the flash it makes it look white.
The lights I did myself, but it was a slightly lengthy and costly process...

80crm after you pointing out that the mesh in the bonnet scoop looked white I decided to paint it black today. It looked a little too silvery and rice boy in the bright sunlight and camera flash as you pointed out so I niggered it up. It's still noticably meshy, and at some angles in the sun it still looks silver but at others its distinctly black (below pics are both black)

Here's a random pic of me next to a BA XR6 today
( I wonder if it belongs to Glenn :P )

Update: Finally got inside the boot and bonnet painted. I've also done the engine bay bits: coolant tank, power steering cover, snorkel, airbox and the rocker cover. I also gave the throttle body and intake manifold a bit of a polish but I gave up after wearing out 2 cheap dremel wire brush attachments. I couldn't get the allen key nuts undone with the little keys I had so I did what I could on the car. More work on that later on I think! I also have a second rocker I've rubbed back to polish up but I don't know if I'll fit that or stay with the purple one..
I also don't know if I could be bothered doing all the extra polishing on a whole rocker cover! :P

Looks good under there Hyena! Just need to tidt up the battery and coat the extractors and she'll look perfect. But maybe a little too much purple. Perhaps a black cover and silver braided hoses with purple fittings would look nice 8-)

Well despite my best cleaning efforts the coolant tank was so brown and discoloured anyway that I coudln't really see :P

There's a sensor in the bottom of the tank to tell me when it's empty  but seriously I check it from time to time when the car is cold in which case looking under the cap is sufficient

Nearly finished now! :D

I FINALLY got the wing back from the painter but after trying to fit it today by myself I think I'm going to need some more help to balance it while I measure it up exactly and drill holes etc. I don't wanna mount it crooked now do I :P

I was really hesitant about fitting the GT wing as it's a bit big and bulky for my liking but after sussing it out today all painted and with the rest of the kit being pretty chunky I don't think it looks too bad.

I've still got a month to get it ready for powercruise @ eastern creek :)
