i want to take the spoiler off my ef xr6 and when i unscrew the bolts that hold the wing on how can i remove the wires that are hooked up to the brake light on the wing??? would i need someone to cut it or what???..cheers

If it doesn't have plugs after following the wires from the wing to inside the boot, then the next option would be to chop at a desirable length. Though i don't have a spoiler but that is how i see it. Hope this helps.

EDIT: You can chop it yourself. With cutters.

ill prolly see if i can find a spare bootlid that hasnt been spoilerd if i like the look..but if not then ill either keep the wing on or get it welded

you were right it does have a little plug.. so ill prolly take it off tomorrow and see if i like the look... i should be able to get some rubber grommets from super cheap yea??

i did the same thing to my ba, i took the spoiler off, but the holes are f**k and rusted cause the guy before me liked to park next time bore water sprinklers.

it'll look hot as man, make sure you post some pics up when you take it off :)

I want to take the spoiler off mine but i had a look at it today and couldnt find the plug..do you have to pull the lead out a fair way or is there another way to get it out?

hard to say it could be in the bootlid or the section under the parcel shelf, or may not have one dependng whether it was factory or what not.

I know a friends sister with a lancer that the wires are literally twisted together, and the positive has a bit of electrical tape over it. So spoiler wiring comes in all forms, best to just get your arm up in their, and feel around, unless someone pipes up where it is factory on your model, and watch for sparks. :lol: :lol:
